Job Purpose

 

Assist supervisor in the day to day operations of all receiving & returns functions from the unloading of client’s product through delivery within the warehouse storage areas with continuous focus on maximizing productivity, efficiency & accuracy.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  1. Plan and coordinate with the Receiving /Returns team as they process client’s products; monitor and measure their performance for accuracy.
  2. Communicate with Receiving/Returns Supervisor regarding critical Receiving/Returns Department Issues; including process improvements.
  3. Communicate with clients regarding any specific requests as well as address any shipping issues as quickly as possible.
  4. Responsible for leading and motivating employees to perform at their highest level. Serve as a liaison between department Supervisor and receiving/returns team.
  5. Monitor the unloading of product into the Receiving Department and ensure product is staged for counting and inspections.
  6. Fulfill Receiving Clerk duties when not in a Supervisory role; including entering correct quantities, weight, dimensions and locations for all items into the control panel.
  7. Communicate with Receivers/Return’s Clerks to make sure client’s directions are followed.
  8. Ensure a safe workplace by enforcing all safety rules and by promoting awareness and accountability.
  9. Ensure staff understands and adheres to all company policies.
  10. Perform any additional duties as required.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of experience at the supervisory level.
  • Must be highly organized and efficient; excellent time management skills
  • Leadership skills; effective delegation skills
  • Be adaptable and able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Management, Co-Workers, Clients & Staff; both verbally (Individually or in a group setting) and in writing.
  • Accomplished computer skills with MS Office suite.

Working Conditions                                                                                                                       

 

Receiving & returns volume fluctuations may create a necessity to work overtime and the occasional week-end.

The working environment is consistent with a typical warehouse; exposure to noise and dust as well as changes in temperature and lighting. Equipment, such as Fork Lifts, is consistently used throughout the warehouse.

 

Physical Requirements                                                                                                                

 

The ability to sit, walk, stand, push, twist and bend the entire length of your shift (generally 8 hours). Occasionally lift customer merchandise from 0-50 pounds.

  • Computer experience in MS Office suite.
